4 September 2008 - PCT press release re. maternity services
The East Sussex Primary Care Trusts (East Sussex Downs & Weald PCT and Hastings & Rother PCT) today received a copy of the decision from the Secretary of State for Health to accept the advice of the governments Independent Reconfiguration Panel (IRP) on proposals for changes to maternity services in East Sussex.
4 September 2008 - IRP says Eastbourne must retain maternity services
The IRP, the independent expert on NHS service change, publishes a report today recommending that both Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital in Hastings must retain consultant-led maternity, special care baby and inpatient gynaecology services.
2 September 2008 - Improved service for patients with lung disease

Hastings is to get a new Walk-In Health Centre offering treatment to anyone from 8 oclock in the morning to 8 oclock at night, seven days a week.

Wasted medication is costing Hastings and Rother Primary Care Trust over one million pounds every year, according to local health chiefs, as they unveil a major campaign to help reduce medicine wastage.
