Station Plaza Health Centre in Hastings has made the shortlist of nominees for a prestigious building industry award.
The £16 million facility, which opened in late May, houses 5 GP practices,
including a Walk In Centre which is open from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
The building also boasts a dental practice, pharmacy, sexual health clinic and a range of community services.
Station Plaza is amongst the finalists in the Best Community Care Design category at the Building Better Healthcare awards.
Graham Griffiths is Head of Development at NHS Hastings and Rother, the organisation which owns the health centre and which managed its development.
He says:
"Making it onto the final shortlist for this award is great news.
It is recognition of all the hard work put in by local NHS staff, as well as the many people from the local community, to make Station Plaza Health Centre a reality."
The Station Plaza team will find out if they have won their category at the Building Better Healthcare ceremony in London on 11th November 2010.
