Seaford Health Centre is undergoing a £120,000 facelift to help give patients a better experience.
The building is being re-decorated in many areas, with most of the flooring replaced and updated in line with the latest standards around infection control.
In particular, a wood vinyl effect flooring is being installed in the reception and waiting areas to give it a warmer feel.
The work is already underway and is due to be finished early in 2010.
The funding has come from NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald who own the building.
Graham Griffiths, Head of Development, says:
"NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald, together with local people, have identified the most viable option for developing healthcare services in Seaford in the future which could involve replacing the health centre.
However, whilst these plans are being developed and funding secured we need to ensure that the centre is upgraded to ensure it is welcoming and comfortable for people using it."
