The NHS wants to know what you think about pharmacy services in your area.
NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald and NHS Hastings and Rother have carried out a detailed analysis of the health needs of local people, what pharmacy services are already in place, as well as what gaps there are in services and how these gaps could addressed.
These draft documents, one for each area, are called the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments or PNAs.
Now NHS staff are asking local people for their views on the PNAs to help develop plans for the future.
Graham Delves, Head of Pharmacy, is in charge of the team who have put the needs assessments together.
He says:
“We have pulled together lots of information on pharmacy services in the East Sussex Downs and Weald area, which covers Eastbourne borough and the Lewes and Wealden districts, as well as the Hastings and Rother area.
The next step is to ask people living and working in these areas for their opinions.
In particular we would like people to tell us what they think about:
- how accurately services in their area have been mapped
- whether they agree with the needs that have been identified and the proposed steps to address those needs
- any needs they feel we have missed
We will then use what people tell us to update the PNA before it is published early next year.”
You can get hold of a copy of the draft PNA by calling tel 01424 735669 or e-mailing pna.returns@nhs.net.
