Colleagues gathered at Uckfield Community Hospital today (18th March) to bid farewell to Rev. Canon Bill Peters, who is retiring after 42 years as Chaplain at the hospital.
During this time he has given spiritual support to thousands of patients, their families, friends and staff.
Bill said: "It has been a great privilege to visit all the patients over the last 42 years, many of whom were my friends. Especially thanks to our recently retired matron Sue Adams and her predecessors."
Heather Green, Senior Clinical Sister said: “Bill has been a fantastic support and has been much appreciated for his great love of Uckfield Hospital and his gratitude towards the staff for their love and friendship to him."
